After washing your tattoo (and your hands), pat dry with a paper towel. Then, take some Cannalchemy skin healing tattoo butter in your fingers (and hand, depending on the size of your piece) and apply a thin layer directly onto your tattoo. Make sure to continue applying to keep the tattooed area from drying out. If applied properly, your tattoo should go through the scabbing (healing) process, with minimal/no drying or scabbing. Continue use for up to 5-6 weeks after your tattoo or routinely after as a daily moisturizer

As with the introduction of any new products to your skin, please ensure you do a patch test on your wrist before applying to the affected area, to ensure that you will not develop an allergic skin irritation (contact dermatitis).
~Base elements~
CBD, or cannabidiol, is the second most prevalent active ingredient in the cannabis plant. While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is extracted from the flowers, leaves, stalks or stems of the hemp plant, whose THC content is exceptionally low (often so low it cannot be detected by testing equipment). One of hundreds of components in marijuana, CBD does not cause a "high" by itself because it's nonpsychoactive. CBD comes in many forms, including oils, extracts, capsules, patches, vapes, and topical preparations for use on skin. If you’re hoping to reduce inflammation, heal skin and relieve muscle and joint pain, a topical CBD-infused oil, lotion or cream – is the best option. Lucky for you, you have this very product in your hands!
Numerous studies have shown that CBD oil has anti-inflammatory benefits when applied to skin. This makes CBD a suitable ingredient for healing tattoos (and skin more broadly), as its calming benefits help reactive skin heal. The key benefit of CBD oil is that it has been found to have significant soothing properties. Its substantial skin-calming and skin-normalising effects can help minimise issues related to skin sensitivity, including redness and reactivity. Since all skin types are affected daily by environmental stressors, CBD’s soothing mechanism can help keep everyone’s skin in check.
Cannalchemy's skin healing tattoo butter is a versatile way for you to take advantage of cannabinoids, offering numerous healing properties. Your skin is the largest organ of your body, and it’s also your body’s first line of defence against invasive toxins. The skin acts as a protective layer with the body’s highest density of cannabinoid receptors. Cannabinoid receptors sit on the cell surfaces waiting for specific neurotransmitters (such as those found in cannabis) to bind to them. Different types of receptors are found in other parts of the body as well, in what is known as your endocannabinoid system (ECS). Once applied, the cannabinoids bind with the CB2 receptors in your skin, promoting a state of homeostasis and healing.

As one of the earliest cultivated flowers, Calendula’s most popular use from ancient times to modern day has been as a skin treatment for minor wounds, burns, rashes, itchiness, callouses, insect bites, stings, acne and eczema. Calendula has the ability to promote the growth of healthy new tissue, increase blood flow to the affected area, boost collagen production, hydrate skin and speed up the process of skin repair. The flower contains glycoproteins and nucleoproteins which stimulate epithelial cell production (the cells that make up the outer surface of the body) and subsequently, is a great medicine for treating all kinds of skin conditions.
Thought to have originated in Egypt, it was an extremely important medicine in Ancient Greece, Rome and Arabia. During WWI it was used as an antiseptic for wounds; the main triterpenoid compounds in the plant are claimed to be the most important anti-inflammatory and anti-edematous (swelling prevention) components on the planet.
St. John's wort is a flowering plant in the Hypericaceae family named for its bright yellow flowers that were said to bloom for the first time around St. John the Baptist's birthday. The word "wort" means "plant" in Old English.
An oil made from St. John’s wort has also been used topically for wound healing and a variety of other skin conditions such as eczema and hemorrhoids for centuries. When applied to the skin, St. John’s Wort treats irritations, burns and scrapes by boosting blood flow to the affected area. When incorporated into a cream and applied to the skin, it can help keep open wounds clean by killing microorganisms. It has also been known to help keep your skin hydrated and soothe those of us with more sensitive skin.

CALENDULA ~ Calendula Officinalis
ST JOHNS WORT ~ Hypericum Perforatum
COMFREY ~ Symphytum officinale
Comfrey is a shrub that grows in parts of Europe, Asia, and North America, producing clusters of purple, blue, and white flowers. Comfrey is famous for its long, slender leaves and black-skinned roots, which have been used in traditional medicine in many parts of the world. In Japan, the plant has been harvested and used as a traditional treatment for over 2,000 years.
The roots of the comfrey plant contain chemical substances called allantoin and rosmarinic acid. Allantoin boosts the growth of new skin cells, while rosmarinic acid helps relieve pain and inflammation. This is extremely beneficial not only for healing tattoos but also in applying to any part of your skin as the plant extract is extremely regenerative. Our skin healing tattoo butter has a comfrey content of 15 percent.
We combine the following organic, dry herbs in a large amber glass jar, then cover and fill to the brim with Sweet Almond Oil. We leave this brewing for 2-3 months in the sun and moon, allowing all of the beautiful properties of the herbs to infuse into the oil. We then strain the oil from the herbs and concoct into our skin healing tattoo butter.
~Butter elements~
Shea butter is fat that’s extracted from the nuts of the shea tree. It’s solid at warm temperatures and has an off-white or ivory color. Shea trees are native to West Africa, and most shea butter still comes from that region. Shea butter has been used as a cosmetic ingredient for centuries. Its high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids — combined with its easy-to-spread consistency — make it a great product for smoothing, soothing, and conditioning your skin.
Shea butter is also known with tissue regeneration and soften skin. Shea butter penetrates deep into skin to moisturise and prevent dry, cracked skin. Shea butter works like an emollient. It might help soften or smooth dry skin. Shea butter also contains substances that can reduce skin swelling.
SHEA BUTTER ~ Vitellaria paradoxa
KOKUM BUTTER ~ Garcinia indica
Kokum butter is an oil derived from the seeds of a fruit-bearing tree called the kokum tree, part of the mangosteen family. The trees are primarily cultivated in tropical regions of India. Kokum butter usually has a light gray or pale yellow tint and predominantly comprises a type of saturated fat known as stearic acid (1). The chemical structure of the fat allows kokum butter to remain solid at room temperature. Subsequently, unlike many other types of plant butter, kokum butter naturally has a very hard texture that melts easily when applied to the skin. It is much less likely to clog the pores than something like cocoa butter. We combine with shea butter & sweet almond oil to create a more spreadable consistency.
